2. Why should I care how many times it took for Samuel to see it was God. A lot. 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, and the word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him.
3. yes, I don't like yes no questions. Wheres the meat.
Application
1. I don't see how I can compare myself to Samuel. I have not been woken to a voice. All kidding aside I believe that my openness to hearing God's voice has increased in proportion to my faith. The more that I see that I don't have the answers for my life the more I seek god for direction at every turn.
2.Certainly when it seems to be of an unpleasant nature.
3. I would presume that it is my selfish desires that cloud out what God may be trying to show me. so consumed with my own thoughts that their isn't any room for His. Yet the way I combat this is to deliberately stay in the word and deliberately ask for him to speak to me.
